Tomislav Topic

Der 1985 in Hannover geborene und in Berlin lebende Künstler Tomislav Topic hat im Laufe seiner Karriere ein stilistisch einzigartiges und unverwechselbares Oeuvre geschaffen. Als Teil von Quintessenz und als Solokünstler konnte er weltweit zahlreiche Installationen und Wandbilder im öffentlichen Raum realisieren.

Tomislav Topic überschreitet mit seinen Wandbildern die Grenzen des Genres der Malerei und beweist, dass sein abstrakter, ungegenständlicher Stil sowohl im kleinen Galerieformat als auch auf riesigen Wänden hervorragend funktioniert. Durch sein Studium an der Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst in Hildesheim hat er sowohl einen Hintergrund in der akademischen Kunstwelt als auch in der urbanen Kunst. Selbstbewusst formuliert er einen eigenen künstlerischen Standpunkt, der die klassischen Kategorien zu vereinen und zu überschreiten versucht. Der Künstler versteht seine künstlerische Arbeit vor allem als Arbeit an unserer Umwelt. Er war als Dozent an der Universität Hildesheim und anderen Bildungseinrichtungen tätig.

Topic ist bekannt für seine farbintensiven, ortsspezifischen Kunstinstallationen, in denen er es versteht, seine Arbeit auf das eigentliche Wesen der Kunst selbst zu reduzieren: Farbe und Form. Farbe und Form werden zum alleinigen und primären Inhalt seiner Kunst erhoben. Seine abstrakten Arbeiten und die grundsätzliche Konzentration auf Farbe und Form ermöglichen es ihm, universell verständliche Installationen zu schaffen, die dem Betrachter ein echtes und direktes Kunsterlebnis ermöglichen. Bei Topic gehen die erhebende Kraft der Schönheit und die Logik der Wissenschaft eine Symbiose ein, die uns herausfordert, die Umwelt mit erweiterten Sinnen wahrzunehmen. Ob Malerei oder Installation, seine Kunst hat die Fähigkeit, als international gültige Ausdrucksform weltweit Resonanz zu finden und auch Menschen unterschiedlichster Kulturen in der Kunst zu vereinen.

Seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt findet das künstlerische Schaffen von Tomislav Topic zunehmend internationale Beachtung. Er wird regelmäßig zu Ausstellungen, Festivals und Künstlerresidenzen in Deutschland, der Schweiz, Frankreich, Italien, Griechenland, Mauritius, Katar, den USA und China eingeladen.
